HOW MOVEMENT AND MINDSET SAVED MY LIFE
I was at the top of my game. For 17 years I worked in the entertainment industry, first as a dancer and then as a creative director, choreographer, and producer. I worked across four continents, was the dance captain of Starlight Express for 10 years and was choreographer for Helene Fischer, Porsche and McFit. I felt I was on top of the world, was the envy of my peers and could do anything…
THAT WAS UNTIL I INJURED THREE DISCS IN MY BACK AND WAS IN EXCRUCIATING AGONY EVERYDAY
I had spent my life carving out a successful career, using my body as my toolkit. But suddenly it was failing me. I kept pushing through, working 60 hour weeks, afraid of losing my work and essentially my identity. But the agony, anger and fear was taking a toll on my health and relationships.
EVENTUALLY, IT ALL CAME CRASHING DOWN
My marriage broke down, I was hospitalised with exhaustion and my body was in so much pain that I felt my future, and everything I had built for myself, was finished. I then found myself standing on a bridge, looking down and imagined the world a better place if I was not a part of it.
THANKFULLY, I FOUND HELP
It took all the courage I could muster, but I eventually found help. From being hospitalised to receiving therapy, I found the support I needed. I cried a lot and was diagnosed with PTSD from a childhood trauma. Although it was hard and often painful, eventually I began to heal.
But beyond therapy, I wanted to learn to take control of my life again. So I found a life-coach to help me on my new journey of transformation.
MINDSET + MOVEMENT = MOMENTUM
During my coaching I was (essentially) forced by my doctor to exercise to help my back recover from injury. But what happened during that time of being coached and moving again was incredible. The benefits to my mental health were profound and I quickly learnt that the advantages of physical exercise extended way beyond the body. My energy improved, my mood enhanced, problem solving became easier and I started to feel “unstoppable” again.
I came to realise the super-powerful effect that coaching and moving my body had on my outlook and mindset.

Since I started to coach and train others my proudest achievement has been building my #KitchenFamily online fitness community. What started out as an idea to keep myself and others moving during lockdown, has quickly escalated into a community of over 5000 people!
Together, we are moving our bodies and refining our mindsets daily. Whether it’s HIIT, barre, ab-attack or stretch in the kitchen, we are united in taking action to build a better, happier life for ourselves. And we’d love to see you there too!
